Scotch Shortbread

Directions

1. Heat oven to 350°F
2. Cream butter and sugar.
3. Work in flour. If dough is crumbly, mix in 1 to 2 tablespoons of soft butter.
4. Roll dough ½ to 1/3 in thick on lightly floured cloth-covered board. Cut into small shapes. Place ½ inch apart on ungreased baking sheet.
5. Bake about 20 minutes or until set.
6. Immediately remove from baking sheet
7. Makes about 2 dozen 1-1/2x1 inch cookies
